Brenda Jean Mills was born June 18, 1962, to William “Bubs” Mills and Doris Sue Burten Mills. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Texas where she lived with her husband, Robert Samuel “Bob” Viscome.
She graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School in 1980 and worked for 20-plus years as a massage therapist in Fort Worth. Her massage business named “Touch from the Heart Massage” did just that, touched many people’s lives in a positive healing way. She took great pride in her ability to help relieve the discomfort of others and helping to bring back the physical joys of their lives.
Brenda always said that the true healer was God and her hands were just the method he chose to use. She was an active member of the Music Choir, Bells Choir, and several committees at the Western Hills United Methodist Church for many years.
Her favorite pastimes were studying the Bible, gardening, exercising, hiking, fossil hunting and taking care of abandoned animals.
Brenda was one of fourteen grandchildren of Watermelon and Ruth Mills of Mount Vernon, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Watermelon and Ruth Mills, three aunts, Barbara Vashti Mills Hicks “Sissy”, Neva Lue Mills Grieves and Sara “Jan” Parnell Mills, one Uncle Donald Royce Mills and a cousin, Jonathan Mark Mills.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Mills; her husband Robert Samuel ”Bob” Viscome; brother, Rubin Mills; sister, Janice Cox; three aunts, Shirley Boulter-Davis, Mary Ruth Mills and Katherine Anne Moore; and eleven first cousins.
Brenda donated her body to science to help others better understand life.
