Mrs. BONNIE PEARL HENDRICKS TRICE

FORT WORTH – Bonnie Hendricks Trice passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, one day after her 100th birthday, surrounded by her family. SERVICES: Family and friends will gather from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. Mrs. Trice will be laid to rest with her husband, Bill, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Due to Covid 19 guidelines, masks and social distancing are required at both services. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Houston, Genesis United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, or the Christian Church of Anna, Texas. Bonnie was the youngest of ten children born to John Wesley and Louella Aston Hendricks on September 21, 1920 in Anna, Texas. She was a happy child who had a strong faith and sense of character, loved and cared for her large family, was quick-witted and knw how to have fun! These attributes served her well as she moved through life from small town Texas to attending North Texas State Teachers College, to working for Neiman Marcus in "Big D," to becoming a military wife. In 1943, Bonnie Pearl married her dashing young pilot and hometown sweetheart, Billy Joe Trice. This love affair lasted a lifetime and beyond...As a military wife, she faced many hardships during WWII. Bill's B-24 was shot down and he became a POW. In 1949, Bill was deployed to the Korean Conflict for two years leaving Bonnie to care for their two young children and to keep the home fires burning. Over the years as Bill was transferred, Bonnie made many life-long friends with her humor, grace and "Southern Hospitality.: After 32 years, Bonnie and Bill retired from the Air Force in Fort where they spent time traveling, playing bridge, dancing to "In the Mood," gardening, being actively involved with the Shriners/Moslah Temple and spending time with their precious grand/great-grandchildren. Always the optimist, Bonnie inspired her family and friends with her natural positive attitude, "Do your best" and her generous caring spirit: "If you get into trouble, call me collect!" Bonnie will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. She lived her life, an example to others with open arms, an engaging smile, and a love for God, country, family and friends. She showed us how to accept a changing world while remaining true to oneself. A special thank you to VITAS Hospice and the loving caregivers Linda, Teeci, Erica and especially Lois, who was with Bonnie for the last five years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 71 years, William J. Trice, grandsons, Robert Trice Blakewell adn Jonathan Stewart Trice and her nine siblings. SURVIVORS: In addition to her children, William J. “Bill” Trice Jr, Suzy Trice Blakewell and her husband, Bob, and Cindy Trice Mitchell and her husband, Bill, Bonnie is survived by grandchildren, Cindy Anne Blakewell and her husband, Keith Neagle, Scott Blakewell and his wife, Allison, Chris Mitchell and fiance' Julia Barth, Michael, Brian and Tyler Mitchell, Bonnie Azano and her husband, Jon, Katie Trice, Matt Trice and his wife, Ellen; great-grandchildren, Wesley Neagle, Sydney, Ahsley and Robyn Blakewell, Gavin and Darby Barth, Rowan Mitchell, Vivian And Rhett Azano, and Michael and Leia Trice.
