Ms. ARLYNE FAGIN PUTNAM FEINGOLD

BENBROOK -- Arlyne Fagin Putnam Feingold died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, 2014, after a six-month battle with lung cancer. She was 64 years old. Born Sept. 6, 1949, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Arlyne was the daughter of Oscar and Henrietta Cohen Fagin. The family later moved to Satellite Beach, Fla., where Arlyne graduated from Satellite High School. She received a B.A. from Columbia College and an M.P.A. from the University of Central Florida. Arlyne served our country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. She taught at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany, where she conducted multinational military training in support of NATO operations, strategy, policy, doctrine and procedures. While in the Air Force, Arlyne served as a disaster preparedness officer on the U.S. Forces, Japan, Headquarters staff, developing policy for and ensuring preparedness of U.S. forces stationed in Japan for disasters, both natural, i.e. typhoons, tsunamis and earthquakes, and manmade, i.e. acts of terrorism. Following her career in the military, Arlyne had a successful career as a program manager, contracts administrator, and contracts director for several international companies. In August 2011, she became director of Contracts and Subcontracts for the Aviation Support and Space Ranges Division of CSC Applied Technologies LLC, now PAE. While her professional achievements were many, she is best remembered for her interpersonal relationships, baking skills, quick wit, radiant smile, and willingness to take on any challenge. She would say, "Work with me people" - and they would. Her independent spirit and generous nature will be missed by her family, many friends, and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Stanley Feingold. Survivors: In addition to her sister, Dr. Karen Fagin, Arlyne is survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph V. Ortiz; niece, L. Kim Gutterman; nephew, Roland E. Van Horn; ex-husband, Jeffrey Putnam; aunt and uncle, Helen and Sidney Fagin; and eight Fagin family cousins.
